DIAN Conditions for Operational Renting

To enjoy the tax benefits, DIAN mandates that the Operational Renting contract must meet the following 8 criteria:

What is operational leasing and how does it differ from financial leasing?
Operational leasing (renting) is a pure rental contract: Dattics delivers the equipment (laptops, servers, networking) for a fixed monthly fee that includes support, maintenance, and replacement. There is no purchase option, it does not affect your debt ratio, and it does not appear on the balance sheet. Financial leasing includes a purchase option and is recorded as a liability.
Is operational leasing tax-deductible in Colombia?
Yes. The monthly fee is recorded as a 100% deductible operating expense for income tax (article 127-1 ET), as long as the contract meets pure-rental requirements (no purchase option, no transfer of ownership risks, term shorter than the asset's economic life). We deliver the tax documentation ready for your accountant.
What equipment can I rent with LeRenting?
Business laptops and desktops, design workstations, servers, storage, switches, firewalls, WiFi access points, UPS, printers, security cameras, monitors, and corporate displays. We also offer turnkey bundles (LeRenting 365) that include hardware + Microsoft 365 licenses + Dattics support in a single fee.
How long is a LeRenting contract and what happens at the end?
Standard contracts run 24, 36, or 48 months. At the end, Dattics picks up the equipment and can deliver new models under another contract (technology refresh) at no switching cost. There are no final payments, no residual values, no purchase option — it is pure rental.
Does it include support and warranty during the contract?
Yes. The fee includes the Dattics help desk (remote and on-site in major Colombian cities), replacement of damaged or faulty equipment, firmware and BIOS updates, and full lifecycle management. You don't worry about manufacturer warranties — Dattics handles everything.
What is the minimum order size for LeRenting?
We work with 5 units or more per contract. For small companies we offer LeRenting 365 (hardware + Microsoft 365 license) starting from 5 users. For large contracts (50+ units) we apply volume discounts and shorter delivery times with local stock in Colombia.
